Biography

A fifth generation Rock Springs resident, I am dedicated to our community and Wyoming.

In my current role as the manager of the Rock Springs Urban Renewal Agency/Main Street Program. I work closely with small businesses and believe in their ability to transform Wyoming’s economy.

I am an unapologetic advocate for Wyoming. I previously served on the Rock Springs City Council from 2003-2008 and again from 2011-2013.

I have three daughters, Katie (24), Grace (20) and Hadley (17). My husband, Jon, is the associate librarian at Western Wyoming Community College and I'm a new grandfather! My children hope to live and work in Wyoming so the mission to create a more vibrant and diverse Wyoming is personal for me.

I am proud of my “A” rating from the Wyoming Education Association and for being recognized by the Wyoming Business Alliance.

Experience

Why I am Running

I’ll continue doing what I’ve always done - doing what’s best for Wyoming and Rock Springs and listening to constituent concerns, taking them to Cheyenne. I represent you because I AM you, I’m a 5th generation Rock Springs resident. I’m a husband, son, brother, father and new grandfather. I’ve always been a champion for Rock Springs and that’s how I spend my time in Cheyenne, championing Rock Springs, Sweetwater County and Wyoming.

I believe in leaving things better than I found them and apply that to every aspect of my life, be it a hiking trail or our community.

I’m not a ‘party person,’ but someone who votes for what’s right and what’s best for us. While we won’t always agree 100%, I can guarantee you I’ll represent you in Cheyenne with integrity and honesty and no political gamesmanship. I’m not running with a personal agenda other than helping Wyoming and Rock Springs prosper.

I believe in:
• Supporting Small Business
• Continued support for Wyoming’s legacy industries
• Vibrant communities with streamlined funding sources for cities, towns, and counties
• A strong tourism sector
• Quality schools with teachers who feel valued
• Affordable access to quality healthcare
• Quality of life issues like arts & culture, access to public lands and outdoor recreation
• Fostering collaboration and cooperation
• Government closest to the people is the best
• Keeping public lands in public hands

Top 3 Priorities

My top three priorities are:

• Keeping public lands in public hands - access to public lands for recreation, hunting and fishing is imperative to our way of life. I'll fight to protect to those rights while preserving multiple use where possible.
• Education. We want schools that teach and empower our students with teachers who feel valued. Schools are the foundation of our communities and if we want our youth to remain in Wyoming, good schools and teachers are imperative.
• Supporting Wyoming's businesses and workers. Wyoming has nearly 20,000 small businesses with at least 1 employee. What can we as a state do to help those businesses grow and each add 1 more job? Do we need to help or just get out of the way. Let's make it easy for the businesses to grow while supporting our workforce.
