Biography

Currently I sit as the board chair for SCSD1. I have been married to my wife Stephanie for 28 years and we have 2 great girls, a senior and a freshman. I have a degree in early childhood education and grew up with a mom in education. I have been a fly fishing guide and dog trainer for the past 30 years. I try to be as active as possible in our community. I love coaching, volunteering, and spending time with my family.

Experience

Served on the SCSD1 school board for the last 6 years. We have seen a lot in those years. New superintendent, growing enrollment, virtual schooling, covid, and budget cuts. I currently serve as the board chair. As chair, I am still 1 of 5 , 20 percent of a great team of board members. I also serve on our BOCHES and BOCES boards, which allow us to offer college level classes to our high school students and preschool education to our younger students.

Why I am Running

Schools in small towns tend to be the heartbeats of the community. I believe in public education, where every child gets the opportunity to receive the best education. One of the most valuable assets our graduates take with them is a great education. A great education comes from having great teachers and administrators. Recruiting and retaining the best teachers benefits our children and our community.

Top 3 Priorities

Above all providing the best education to our students of SCSD1.

Working on finding long term funding strategies for our school.

Acknowledging our community. All stake holders, staff and students. Our schools are our communities.
