Biography

I was born in California. In 1995 I moved my family to Wyoming, I wanted enough distance between my family and Californian's attitudes, that I could get. The move meant so much to me, was so important, that I didn't even have a job when we first moved here. Some people thought i was crazy but looking back, it was the best decision I have ever made.

Experience

I'm retired now, but during my career years I worked in construction and I dealt with many different individuals with different opinions/concerns. I learned to navigate those interactions in a fair and balanced way; looking at their concerns from all points of view. I was a commercial welder/fitter/plumber and spent the last 12 years of a 40+ year career in Montana; working as a journeyman and then a project manager. Prior to moving to Wyoming I was CEO of a family business.

Education

I graduated in 1975 from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelors degree in Animal Husbandry/Animal Science.

Community Activities and Memberships

Up until March of this last year my main focus has been my family and my church callings. I was asked to fill a vacant council seat in March of this year and I've learned a great deal. I now feel confident in my position to have a desire to continue as a City Councilman.

Why I am Running

I am interested in preserving/promoting Greybull as a safe place to raise one's family; and to be a part of the solution in solving the issues presented to the town council. Greybull has been a great place for me and my wife to raise our daughters; and now for them to raise our grandchildren; I would like to be a part of keeping Greybull that safe place. I would like to be involved in the things that strengthen our youth.

Top 3 Priorities

I would like to help make Greybull a place that both tourist and local residents would spend time in/ and not just Greybull as a place to stop when passing through heading elsewhere.
Another priority would be to expand upon the teaching of our youth gun safety and firearm respect. i believe Wyoming communities do a very good job with this, which helps to combat the mass shootings by young adults we hear about nationwide. When is the last time you heard of a mass shooting by a young person in Wyoming? Could that happen here? Yes, but I believe what we are doing in Wyoming in regards to guns and their usage within our communities makes a difference. I also believe the communities efforts with helping our youth to become well adjusted young adults and citizens also helps with these types of community issues.
A third priority would be to maintain and expand Greybull's appeal to raise one's family here and become an active part of our community. Does our community have issues? Sure it does, and I would like the opportunity to be part of the solution.
