Biography

In 2017 my wife Jenn and I were looking to relocate to a new state. We traveled to Wyoming and found that Sweetwater County would be a GREAT place to relocate our family. Having 10 years of working for the sheriff’s office I decided to put in an application with the Sweetwater County Sheriff Office and was hired. I started in November 2018 recently was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Experience

I have served on various boards in the past to include City of El Monte Beautification Committee, City of El Monte Local Law Enforcement Grant Committee, and Kern County Detentions Officers Association. I am a certified substitute teacher with the State of Wyoming. I sub for both SWCSD#1 and SWCSD#1. I am a Police Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Certified Instructor for the State of Wyoming and California. I am a past Adjunct Instructor through the Cerro Coso Community College.

Education

I have a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Administration and a master’s degree in Education.

Community Activities and Memberships

I am a member of the Knights of Columbus in Green River.

Why I am Running

couple different options for me to run for office and give back to my community. I have children enrolled in SWCSD#2 and felt it would be a conflict for me to run as I did not want any preferential treatment for my family if I were to get elected to a seat on the board. Outside of my daughter being enrolled in a course through the high school which will be taught through the college I do not have any ties to the WWCC. I felt that I would be a GREAT outside view to help with the needs of our community.

As an employee I have always want to make things better. It can be frustrating to feel like your input is never sent up for consideration. As a sergeant monthly I reach out to my employees to see if any information needs to be brought up to our superiors. I make sure their voices are heard, and I will do the same for you if elected.

Top 3 Priorities

I am committed to be the voice of the students, staff, and residents of Sweetwater County so we can offer the courses needed by our community. I want to work with legislators to ask for Wyoming Constitutions to be amended to include the community colleges throughout the state of Wyoming. If we can get the colleges written into the Constitution this will allow the college to be able to offer the courses needed by our students/community. I hope this will increase our enrolment and allow us to be able to be competitive with pay for our staff.
