Attended local schools through high school graduation, U.W. for engineering and Sheridan College for expanded interests and business courses after marriage.
Married since 1979 to Paul J. (Joe) Gerlach.
Mother of two daughters who both returned to Sheridan County with their husbands and are raising three grandchildren here.
Business partner and owner of a natural resource focused consultancy providing geology, hydrology, engineering and land services to mining, ranching, smaller landowners and government agencies with husband and brother for 32 years.

I have always felt blessed to live in one of the seven counties in Wyoming that offers K-14 education. Sheridan College has long been a community center as well as a traditional center of study, providing a welcoming presence for the arts, a great technical library, and other facilities that are used by the community at large. We have two Sheridan college alumni and a third from Torrington's working as employees for us at this time. Many of our fellow businesses here in Sheridan also depend upon the quality graduates coming from programs offered at the college.
Having spent many years acting as a board member and officer of a small company and with frequent interactions with very large corporate client boards as well as non-profit boards, I understand governance, limitations and responsibilities of boards and their members. I also understand how critical it is to work with other board members to assure that the body for which the board operates, in this case Sheridan College or NWCCD, is best served. Many years of small business ownership and management have driven me to look at most things from a cost-benefit perspective and instilled a strong instinct to live within one’s means. I believe that the next few years will be extremely challenging for Sheridan College and I believe that I can work well with other board members to assure a strong foundation for the next 50 years as well as help work through the immediate challenges of the next four years.

Working with other board members to:
Assure that accreditation and the excellent programs that Sheridan college is known for are maintained.
Support the orderly transition of the Gillette campus out of our district and into their own.
Assure funding for existing programs and facilities, as well as expanded programs, meets cost-benefit criteria.
