Biography

As an economic and community developer, I am running for re-election to make a difference. A graduate of Leadership Wyoming, I honed my passion for service; utilizing my leadership skills with Laramie Main Street, in volunteer positions at the state level and within my community, and as your current House District 14 Representative. In my day job I work to build a vibrant business district by collaborating with public-private partners, focusing on our shared goal of a strong business district where entrepreneurs thrive, new jobs are created and consumers “shop local”. My interest in politics is not driven by selfish ambition, but a deep desire to better the lives of my neighbors, community and state.

Experience

I am a passionate public servant who puts people before politics. I have 17 years of public service to the Laramie community. I have a proven track record of strategic planning, creative problem solving, private-public collaboration and bringing people together, in spite of perceived political differences. I value intentional civility; honesty, respect and gratitude. With your vote, I will continue to use my leadership skills to provide an equitable future for all of Wyoming’s residents.

Education

In addition to my grassroots community experience, I have a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies with a minor in Public History. My undergraduate degrees are in History, Photography and English. I am a Leadership Wyoming graduate, class of 2009, and a participant in Wyoming Game and Fish’s Becoming an Outdoor Woman program.

Community Activities and Memberships

I am a co-founder of the Laramie Mural Project and the Laramie Public Art Coalition. I served as a board member for the Wyoming State Historical Society, the Laramie Plains Museum, and was President of the Albany County Historical Society. I am active in my church, Trinity Lutheran, and volunteer with several of Laramie’s social service non profits.

In my free time I enjoy kayaking, hiking, dog training, photography, cooking with wild game, and the challenge of gardening at 7,220 feet!

Why I am Running

I am running for re election so I can continue to listen, serve and work on legislation to address Wyoming specific needs. I stepped up during the pandemic so I could give back and make a difference. I love being a public servant and ask for your support so that I can continue to do the peoples' work. Wyoming needs civil leaders that can reach across the aisle, lead with empathy and compassion, and develop policy for Wyoming’s energy transition and long term resiliency.

Top 3 Priorities

I look forward to expanding Medicaid, protecting reproductive rights and working on legislation that supports our locally owned businesses so that we can diversify our economy. Economic development is more than recruitment and incentives for large industry. We need to retain our young people and talented workforce with a holistic economic ecosystem that address workforce housing, employee healthcare, equal protections, publicly funded Pre-K, affordable childcare and quality of life assets like outdoor recreation and vibrant downtowns.
