Biography

I am a husband, father, and a follower of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am the lead pastor at CrossPoint Baptist Church in Worland. Born and raised in California, going through the public school system there. Met my wife in 2003, married in 2004. We have 5 children. We moved to Worland in 2018 and we love it here! So many more opportunities, and honestly it reminds me more of the culture I grew up in the 1980’s. Worland has welcomed me and my family and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Experience

I have never been on a school board before; this is the first office of any kind I have ran for. Being so heavily involved at the ground level in our schools I believe this give me a perspective of not only the parents but many of the educators as well.

Education

I graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1992, then went to junior college at Bakersfield Junior College where I graduated in December of 1995. I completed my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at California State University in 2001. I later attained my Masters of Theological Studies from Liberty University in 2010, and I am currently working towards my Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Community Activities and Memberships

I currently serve on 4 other boards here in Worland. The Washakie Prevention Coalition, the Worland Wrestling Club, the Activity Pass Board, and the board of Executives at Cloud Peak Counseling. I coach football and wrestling at Worland High School, and having 5 kids means I’m involved in nearly every other activity as well.

Why I am Running

I am running for school board because I love the public school system. Wyoming offers so much for all of our children, and I fear it will not in the future. There are some that want to push harmful subject and ideologies on our children, and parents will not allow this to happen. If it continues parents will continue to pull their children out of public schools until there are not enough children in our schools to properly fund our schools, thus effectively ending the public school system.

Top 3 Priorities

1. Our Children’s Education: Children need to be able to flourish in reading, writing, and arithmetic, many extra-curricular actives and sports.
2. Our Children’s Safety: By “Safety” I mean physical and mental safety.
3. Our Teachers: We have wonderful teachers and we need to maintain a culture that attracts the best teachers to want to come and teach our children in our community.
