Responsibilities and Authority:

What this office does: The county treasurer collects and processes county revenues and tax payments, including license plates and property taxes. Invests county funds (when applicable) and is responsible for accounting for all receipts and disbursing money to the taxing entities, such as school districts and special districts, each month. They serve a 4-year term.

Why it matters: Directly touches tax payments, vehicle transactions, exemptions, and special assessments. For many residents, it is the county office they use most often.
