Biography

I am Andy McMahon I am a life-long SE Wyoming resident. I was born in Cheyenne in Memorial Hospital, and with the exception of the three or so years I lived in Laramie while attending the University of Wyoming, I have lived in Laramie County my entire life. I am married to Michelle G McMahon for the past 19 years, together for 25. We are empty nesters with the exception of 2 dogs, 2 cats and Michelles Mom, Bernie. We live in the county in the area they call the Ranchettes. When we moved there it was horses and a few houses. Now we have churches, businesses and schools along with tons of new houses. We are members of Cheyenne Hills Church. I have spent the last 22 plus years working with Michelle at Frontier Access & Mobility Systems Inc. We have grown it into a 2-state powerhouse in the Accessibility and Mobility Industries. We have been a Veterans Administration contractor for 25 plus years. We are both registered Republicans. I have voted in every general election since 1984.

Experience

I have spent the last 22 years working for a family, woman owned accessible vehicle dealer as the general manager. This has allowed me to process literally hundreds of automobile titles and liens in multiple states. I am very familiar with this aspect of the Clerks job requirements. I have spent literally the last 30 plus years in management level positions in the retail world. Working for the entire range businesses from family owned to huge corporate America. Excellent customer service skills.

Education

I am a life-long Wyoming resident. I graduated from Cheyenne East High, Laramie County Community College and the University of Wyoming. Since then, I have become a licensed used car dealer and salesperson in both Wyoming and Colorado. I have also been a licensed low voltage electrical technician in both states and am still licensed in Wyoming. I have been a Certified Environmental Access Consultant,(CEAC). I have been an American Society of Engineers(ASE) certified technician in several times.

Community Activities and Memberships

I belong to Cheyenne Hills Church. I am the treasurer for Cheyenne Rods and Customs car club. I am an automobile enthusiast and belong to multiple auto related clubs and organizations. I regularly compete in several forms of automotive racing. I am a supporter of The Cheyenne Animal Shelter, The Salvation Army and Safehouse. Our business also belongs to the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. Through the Business I am involved in many National organizations and groups.

Why I am Running

Honestly, I am running for County Clerk because no one else decided to run against the incumbent. Years of frustration with this office led me to try and be the necessary change I desired for this County. I looked at the County Clerks website the night before the deadline and saw no one was challenging and told my wife if no one else applies by noon tomorrow I am going to run. This has caused some conflict at our home as I have worked in my current position for the last 22 years. As I explained to my wife, 22 years is a career for some. I have current employment. If I am not successful in my first attempt at running for a political office, I will still have a job. Saying that, I do feel that I can make a positive difference for the people of this County. I have been in the public atmosphere for the last 35 years. I relate well to and respond well with most people. I am a people person. The Clerks' office needs some help. There are some departments that have struggled for years. Being from the Retail world I understand staffing and budgeting issues. I also can identify when there are management issues. Election integrity is heavy on my heart. I understand that I am running for office in this election. With your vote, maybe I can be directing the next election. While it is easy to admit I have a ton to learn, it is quite obvious from my diverse past, I am capable of learning any subject. If I am allowed.

Top 3 Priorities

Shorter lines and quicker title processing time. One of my top priorities if elected is to shorten the time required to process a title. Currently there is a huge amount of time whether you wait line personally or drop off a title for processing. This while time was exacerbated by Covid, it was very long before the pandemic. It has not improved since Covid has started diminishing.

Happier co-workers. The departments that I deal with in the Clerks' office seem to have a staffing issue. Yet you go across the hall and most of the time the Treasurers' office has a full staff. I am not certain, however it would seem that both of those jobs have a similar pay range. So that tells me that the problem is more than likely not a monetary issue, but maybe a management issue. Happier co-workers are usually more productive, more reliable workers.

Election integrity and accessibility. After the last general election there was and still is large amounts of voters who don't have confidence in the overall election process. One thing I hate is when a politician makes a guarantee. Saying that here is my one guarantee. If I am elected County Clerk, I will expend whatever it takes to guarantee this Countys' voters that their vote will count.
