Biography

I am Anita Frey and I am running for the office of Sweetwater County Clerk. I have been a resident of Sweetwater County for the last 24 years. My husband and I have raised our 2 daughters here with both graduating from Green River High School. I love the residents of Sweetwater County and am proud to call it home.

I have been involved in several activities in Sweetwater County. My girls have been in dance and gymnastics their entire lives. First, we were a Nutcracker family and we absolutely loved our time when the girls danced and I volunteered in all aspects of the production. Faith also got into Rock Springs Gymnastics when she was 3. First I was an involved mom on the sidelines. However, I was soon asked to join the volunteer board and was the Treasurer for Rock Springs Gymnastics for 6 years until my daughter was no longer able to be a competitive gymnast. Both girls danced for the Green River High School dance team. I love Friday Nights under the lights.

Experience

I worked in the Title Dept from 2001 to 2005 before an opening came up in the Accounting/Payroll office. I was so excited to be picked for the position. My time in the Accounting/Payroll Dept has been fantastic. Over the last 17 years, I have worked for 3 bosses and countless commissioners, elected officials and department heads.

I have always been a hard worker and an entrepreneur. I will bring that same hard-working ethic to the County when elected as County Clerk.

Education

I attended schools in New Mexico and at Western Wyoming Community College. Studying Nursing and Business.

Community Activities and Memberships

I own a business called Find Life Balance, where I love to help women remember who they are and clear generational trauma. I absolutely love uplifting others to empower them.

Why I am Running

I have been fortunate to have worked in the County Clerk’s office for 21 years. I was hired in the title department where I spent four years, before moving to the Accounting and Payroll Department for the last 17 years where I am currently the Lead Deputy. One of my favorite responsibilities is helping the Elected Officials and Department Heads with their annual budget process.

Over the years and different administrations, I have seen what has worked and what hasn’t. I will be a hands-on leader in the office. I will work to help the office become more efficient, while being fiscally responsible. I will bring confidentiality, integrity and commitment to the office.

Top 3 Priorities

The County Clerk’s Office has 4 departments and I believe that each office has its own opportunity for improvement. The Election Department is of the utmost importance when it comes to integrity and security. I will ensure that every precaution is taken to ensure its success. I will also make sure that all polling locations are open so that you do not stand in line for multiple hours or are not able to exercise your right to vote because you must get back to work.

The lines in the Title Department are prohibitively long. I will work with the Lead Title Clerk to ensure that we have enough employees working in the office at any given time.

Our Land Records Department is a department that can never be closed. We will work to get an employee cross trained so we don’t have a time where no one is working and answering phones in that office.
