Biography
Erin O'Doherty was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She lived in Georgia and Texas before moving to Laramie 31 years ago to work as a research ecologist for the Forest Service. The lab closed in 2005 so rather than move to Montana to keep her job, Erin stayed in Laramie and worked on databases for nonprofits.
Experience
Erin has served on the Laramie City Council since January of 2017. She was the liaison to the Laramie Council on Disabilities, the Ad Hoc Committee on Alcohol and Community, and still serves as liaison on the Environmental Advisory Committee, the Traffic Safety Commission.
Education
Erin earned a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Maryland. She went on to the University of Georgia to earn an M.S. in Zoology and a PhD in Ecology.
Community Activities and Memberships
Erin ran the Book Fairs for many years at Indian Paintbrush Elementary and is proud of the number of books she got in kids' hands and in classrooms.
Why I am Running
I have found that I can affect the most positive change for people and the environment by serving in municipal government. I'm proud of our work protecting our water, reducing carbon emissions, and increasing recycling options. I'd like to continue that work.
