John Young (Republican)
03-06 Man - - (1401)
Biography
Have lived in Wyoming for nearly 40 years, with the last 36 of those years being in Cheyenne and plan to reside here the rest of my life. My wife and I raised two daughters here who both graduated from East High School and attended the University of Wyoming. I retired almost four years ago from multiple careers in the Federal government including regional, industry, and mineral economic analysis with the Bureau of Land Management and most recently managing information technology architecture and resources for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Now manage rural and residential property that we own in Laramie County and Cheyenne.
Experience
I have not previously held a political office, but I do have broad experience working with people and groups representing a vast range of interests from natural resource management, conservation, preservation, environmental, agricultural, national and international mineral and energy companies, financial institutions and members of the public from a wide array of interests and backgrounds. I believe my experience is well suited to serve as a Precinct Committeeman
Education
Berthoud High School
Colorado State University, BS and MS degrees
Numerous certifications in information technology and information security
Community Activities and Memberships
Member of local community church and have volunteered for projects with Cheyenne Animal Shelter, Needs, rummage sales, etc. to support our local community
Why I am Running
If we don’t all get involved and voice our concerns at the local level, we can’t help shape our individual future and the future of Wyoming. The Precinct Committeeman Position is the correct level to advocate for the interests of the people in my precinct, recruit others to be involved, connect the voter in this precinct to the election process, and help ensure the voices and common interests of this precinct are heard.
Top 3 Priorities
My top Priorities are:
• Protection of our First and Second Amendment Constitutional Rights
• Protection of parental rights, especially in our schools and educational system
• Stop the use of Environmental, Social and Governance Scores to control our lives, businesses and futures in Wyoming
