Why I am Running

When I sit in class and listen to the instructors talk about job opportunities, I'm amazed. With a good education and a good outlook, the possibilities for fellow students are almost limitless. I see a divide in earning power between the typical high school graduates and those who have a degree or certification. I want them all to prosper economically, personally, and professionally.
This school has made a tremendous impact in my life. Five years ago I had to reinvent and rebuild my life after 32 years of marriage and a divorce. I knew I needed to get on the ball and complete my college degree. At 61 isn't the best time begin over. With Char and Lorilynn welcoming to NWC I enrolled. The first class computers was hard.
My academic advisors Vern Dooley and Cammy Rowley gave good guidance and encouragement. This all helped me being hired by UW Extension.
I want other traditional and nontraditional students to experience the sense of accomplishment I have. I want them to be where I am now decades earlier.
So,I want to give back to the community and college so others may profit from a NWC education.

Top 3 Priorities

Simple,
1.) Keep NWC relevant to the needs of the community in terms of the Associate Degrees ,Bachelors Degrees, Certifications, and Adult Education. Update educuction for the current and future needs in the 21st Century.
2.) Continue good fiscal responsibility for the tax payers. Be ready give an account when asked a question by the public and press.
3.) Promote the College to maintain and increase enrollment. This College is a great place students to build a good core education to enter industry, professions, and to four year degree programs in and out of the state. We need students prepared to enter state, national, and global economies.
