Biography

I grew up in a small town of 4,500 people in the central part of Illinois where my parents, relatives and neighbors instilled in me proper “Midwestern Family Values”. After living in Wyoming for years, it is refreshing to see how close these “Midwestern Family Values” align with the Cowboy Ethics the state of Wyoming has adopted. Upon graduating with a degree in Finance, I embarked upon a career in the financial services industry with Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and Edelman Financial Engines. Throughout my 34-year career, with 25 years in Senior Leadership, I have developed strong leadership experience and even more importantly I understand the keys to success which all successful people and businesses possess. These qualities will help Albany County realize its future potential.

Experience

My career taught me the importance of having a Vision, and Strategy to achieve said Vision. I’ve had to anticipate technological advances, and plan for them while building something which lasts. I’ve had to do this in months, not years as the pace of government prefers. Continually I hear from leaders about things holding us back. We need to focus on strengths we have rather than being held back by things we don’t have. This thought will never lead to our success, and I intend to change this.

Why I am Running

While I never desired or even considered running for public office before, I was raised with a
mindset that one can’t complain unless you are willing to be part of the solution. After having the
opportunity to attend numerous county commission meetings and watching disfunction on regular
display, my father’s voice (who passed away 6 years ago) came into my head and I knew I needed to be part of the solution for a brighter future for Albany County.

I have been married for 29 years to Jennifer and have 2 adult children. Brittany graduated from UW, and
Dalton is studying Mechanical Engineering at UW. We chose Laramie as our final resting place when we fell in love with this community and all this area has to offer. I would like to help this community flourish while remaining the small college town with the unique western character people expect and love when they think of Laramie, Wyoming.

Top 3 Priorities

1) Restore transparency, Consistency and Fairness: No more county decisions being cloaked in
darkness or announced on a Friday with the vote coming on Tuesday. Each resident of Albany
County should be able to have their request considered and decided as all other similar
requests.

2) Developing a Vision for Albany County where target growth that maintains our western heritage
and what makes Albany County Special isn’t sacrificed. Without appropriate targeted growth,
the county’s ever growing revenue need will be forced to fall solely upon current residents. A
Vision where our children and grandchildren have the choice to pursue their life’s work here
rather than being forced to leave the county to pursue suitable career opportunities.

3) Build upon the county plan that isn’t being followed currently to develop a strategy for the
county and its people. Ensure each decision made is done first by considering how it fits into
and furthers the strategy for the brighter future for the county. A strategy that not only
considers the present but our future rather than letting outside companies or the city dictate
our future.
