County Clerk

Wyoming Statute: Title 18, Chapter 3, Article 4
Responsibilities and Authority:

What this office does: They are the chief election officer, budget officer, and pay county bills. They also handle all payroll and HR duties.  Their office issues titles for motor vehicles and marriage licenses, among other duties. They serve a 4-year term.

Why it matters: This is one of the most wide-reaching offices in the county. Most critically, the County Clerk serves as the chief election officer — the person in this role is directly responsible for running every election in the county, managing voter registration, and ensuring the integrity of the ballot. Whoever holds this office shapes how accessible and accurate local elections are.
