Why I am Running
I am running for re-election as Wyoming State Treasurer because Wyoming needs experienced, steady leadership to protect and grow the financial resources that support our schools, communities and way of life.
Over the past eight years, Wyoming's investments have become the state's largest source of revenue for the first time in history, generating nearly $1.9 billion last year alone. My office has also returned record amounts of unclaimed property to Wyoming citizens and businesses, putting more money back into the hands of the people who earned it.
While I am proud of those accomplishments, our work is not finished. Wyoming faces long-term challenges as traditional revenue sources change, and we must continue developing responsible, conservative strategies that strengthen our financial future without increasing the burden on taxpayers.
Throughout my career as an ag producer, businessman, legislator and Treasurer, I have been guided by a commitment to uphold the Constitutions of the United States and Wyoming, honor the oath of office and be a good steward of the people's money.
I am running because I believe experience matters, results matter, and Wyoming's future matters. My goal is to continue building a strong financial foundation that allows our children and grandchildren to live, work, raise their families and enjoy the opportunities that make Wyoming such a special place to call home.
Top 3 Priorities
1. Protect and Grow Wyoming's Investments
Continue the disciplined investment strategies that helped make investment earnings Wyoming's largest source of revenue. Every dollar generated through investments helps support government services without increasing the burden on taxpayers.
2. Strengthen Wyoming's Long-Term Financial Future
Advance policies such as a Wyoming Generational Investment Fund to create additional revenue streams for future generations, reduce dependence on volatile revenue sources, and help protect Wyoming families from future tax increases.
3. Uphold the Constitution and Protect Taxpayers
Faithfully execute the duties of the Treasurer's Office in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States and Wyoming, safeguard public funds, and ensure Wyoming remains financially strong, independent and prepared for future challenges.
Together, these priorities are focused on one goal: building a Wyoming where our children and grandchildren can live, work, raise their families and enjoy the same opportunities that have made our state a great place to call home.
