Biography

Johnson County has been my home for nearly 40 years. It is where I have built my life, career, and family. My husband, Victor, has operated Powder River Fencing for nearly 30 years, and together we run a modest ranch in southern Johnson County. We enjoy the outdoors and everything this community has to offer—from hunting and fishing to local music, community events, and spending time with family and friends.

I was raised to believe that hard work, honesty, and helping your neighbors matters. Those values have shaped my life, both personally and professionally. I enjoy staying involved in the community, building lasting relationships, and finding ways to give back. Johnson County is a wonderful place to call home, and I feel fortunate to have built my life here alongside family, friends, and so many people who make this community special.

Why I am Running

People have asked me why I decided to run for County Treasurer. The answer is actually pretty simple—I truly want this job.

Throughout my career, I have found that I enjoy solving problems, working with numbers, and helping organizations operate efficiently and responsibly. I like learning new things, improving processes, and finding practical solutions. Public finance is a profession that combines all of those interests, and I believe the Treasurer's Office is a place where my skills and experience can make a meaningful difference.

Johnson County has given so much to me and my family over the years. It is where I built my career, raised my family, and formed lifelong friendships. Running for Treasurer is my way of giving something back to the community that has given me so much.

I don't see this as a stepping stone or a political opportunity. I simply see it as a chance to do meaningful work, continue learning, and serve the people of Johnson County in a role that I genuinely enjoy. If I'm fortunate enough to earn that opportunity, I will work hard every day, treat people with respect, and do my best to serve our county with honesty, professionalism, and gratitude.

Top 3 Priorities

If elected, my top priority will be serving the people of Johnson County with professionalism, integrity, and respect. Every resident who walks through the Treasurer's Office deserves accurate information, timely service, and a positive experience. I want the office to be known for being approachable, responsive, and helpful.

Protecting taxpayer dollars is one of the Treasurer's most important responsibilities. I am committed to maintaining strong internal controls, safeguarding county funds, making prudent investment decisions, and ensuring accurate financial records. Careful stewardship of public resources requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to accountability every day.

I also believe in continuous improvement. Laws, technology, and financial practices continue to evolve, and I believe it is important to stay current through ongoing education and professional development. I will always look for ways to improve efficiency, strengthen processes, and provide the highest level of service while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.

Finally, I believe good government is built on teamwork and communication. The Treasurer's Office works closely with other county departments, elected officials, state agencies, and the public. My goal is to build positive working relationships, solve problems collaboratively, and serve Johnson County with fairness, professionalism, and a commitment to doing the job right.
