I have called Rock Springs home for 25 years. My husband, Lance, and I are raising two teenagers, and I have homeschooled our children since they were young. My involvement in education has included many years working with families, students, and educators through Classical Conversations, where I have served in teaching, directing, and leadership roles. My interest in school district governance grew from researching policies that affected homeschool families and expanded as I began attending board meetings, studying district policies, budgets, and Wyoming education law. I am running for the Sweetwater County School District #1 Board of Trustees because I believe thoughtful governance requires preparation, accountability, respectful discussion, and a willingness to listen to the people our schools serve.

My experience includes work in the financial industry; service as a Supervisory Committee Member for Trona Valley Community Credit Union (2024–present); prior board service with Homeschool Wyoming and Inside Connection Pregnancy Resource Center; and educational leadership through Classical Conversations as a tutor, director, and Local Representative.

I graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana, and completed college coursework at several institutions. In 2006, I completed Series 6 and 63 securities licensing requirements and obtained an insurance license. I am currently participating in a four-semester Classical Learning Cohort through Classical Conversations and am in the second semester.

I have served on the boards of Homeschool Wyoming and Inside Connection Pregnancy Resource Center, and I currently serve on the Supervisory Committee of Trona Valley Community Credit Union. My community involvement has also included homeschool education, serving as an election judge, participating in local civic events, and attending school board meetings and community forums.

I am running for the Sweetwater County School District #1 Board of Trustees because I believe strong schools require responsible governance, clear priorities, and accountability to the families and community they serve. My interest in the district began with policies affecting homeschool families, but as I attended board meetings and studied district governance, budgets, policy, and Wyoming education law, my concerns broadened.
I want to help ensure that the board focuses on its proper role: setting policy, providing financial oversight, supporting effective district leadership, listening to parents and staff, and keeping student learning at the center of its decisions. I also believe board members should be prepared, ask thoughtful questions, communicate respectfully, and work to rebuild public trust when disagreements arise.
I am running because I care about this community and want to contribute to a board culture that values transparency, responsibility, academic achievement, and respectful governance.

1. Academic Focus and Student Learning
Keep academic achievement, literacy, strong instruction, and a genuine love of learning at the center of district decision-making. Board discussions about programs, staffing, technology, and spending should remain tied to student educational outcomes.
2. Responsible Governance and Financial Oversight
Strengthen board governance through clear roles, careful preparation, transparent decision-making, thoughtful review of policies and expenditures, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
3. Parents, Teachers, and Community Trust
Encourage meaningful communication with parents, teachers, staff, and community members. Respect parents as the primary decision-makers for their children, support teachers in maintaining productive classrooms, and hear and address public concerns respectfully.
