Hi, I'm J.R.
In 1979, I came to Casper for a summer job with plans to return to the Univ. of S.D. I went back to college, but not for long. In March of '80, I returned to Casper to work construction at the Naval Reserve near Midwest. For the past 33 years, I've worked for one company. Since 2012, it’s known as Tallgrass Energy.
I met the most important person in my life that first summer in Casper. In June, Leslie and I celebrated 45 years on our way to forever together.
She is a great wife, mom, GaGa, crafter, friend to her friends, and the glue that holds our family together. To say I'm blessed is an understatement.
I have two grown children, Kyle and Kimberly, with families of their own.

My primary motivation in 2024 was helping to curtail excessive property tax increases. We have made progress, but I believe property tax reform is still needed. Without a comprehensive reform bill, we will continue with a mishmash of relief programs that have led to uncertainty for homeowners and extra work for our county assessors.

a.I think we have other unfinished business related to economic development and ensuring Wyoming families can afford to live in Wyoming. b.Protecting public land and helping our citizens have greater influence in how the public land is used.
c.Ensuring the cost of governing doesn't outpace our citizens' and industry's ability to pay for it.

-Completing comprehensive property tax reform.

-Identifying and creating an environment in which Wyoming will adopt economic development.

-We want government to remain lean, but when we ask them to do something, let's provide the tools to do it well.
