I am the second son (of 5 children) of James and Patricia DuBois. My geneology takes the family back to Ireland, France and Germany.
I have a twin sister.
I have been married to Rose for 46 years.
We have 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
We have lived in the Evanston area for 19 years.
I am ”the right choice” for Mayor of Evanston.

Some may, and have asked me, why are you running for Mayor? Or “what is wrong with you?”. I laughed and explained that I just felt impressed to do. A gut feeling. I love and have always loved challenges. I felt that I have done all that I can do on the UCSD#1 school board. That there was more I could do for this community. That was what I learned from my Dad who was a Pharmacist for 55 years. If you do something, give it your best. And that is what I intend to do. Not to sound pompous or prideful, which I am not, I am pretty good at what I do. I have a gift for understanding people and have the courage to do what is in the best interest of an organization. I understand budgets as I have been dealing with them my whole professional career. From small budgets in the millions to my largest while in Iraq, a $500M budget over the course of 12 months. There are challenges the city is facing with the immediate impact that the data center workforce will bring. ~3,400 workers. I have the skill set to bring the necessary changes to how the city governs. City leaders must think outside the box and adapt quickly to those changes. Protection of the residents is paramount.

First 100 days in office -

3. Prepare for Future Growth

The data center project could reshape Evanston. Do we have the infrastructure, staffing, and resources needed to support that growth?

4. Evaluate Every Department

Meet with every department to understand:

Current challenges
Staffing needs
Equipment needs
Long-term goals
Immediate concerns

Listen first. Make changes second.

5. Improve Communication

Update the city website.
Improve transparency.
Keep residents informed through regular updates instead of making them search for information.
