Why I am Running
Kathryn is running for City Council because she is driven to get involved in the every day workings of the community. The "bigger picture" reasoning for Kathryn deciding to run deals with the current state of the country. There is so much happening politically, economically, socially, and technologically, it has become irresponsible NOT to get involved with the decisions that are being made about these topics. On the local level, working with the community she knows and loves makes the most sense. After all, the larger, bigger changes that create a better country always start as small, manageable adjustments within communities. Kathryn believes deeply that what is achieved here in Casper matters and that helping those who are struggling locally will have a ripple effect that will create change for others as well.
Top 3 Priorities
-Find better way to connect people to existing services within the Casper community that are there to help when people are struggling.
-Make sure that Casper public lands stay public and are not abused, sold, or otherwise "ruined".
-Reduce mental health stigmas and increase access and willingness to receive appropriate care.
-Help find ways to entice healthcare specialists to come to Casper to ease the burden on individuals and families who continue to leave the state for care.
-To make sure I stay connected with the constituents I represent and act as a true voice for them in the council.
