Biography

I was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. My family has a long-standing legacy within the City. My great-grandfather, Williams Storey, served on the LCSD #1 Board of Trustees for 24 years, and the gym was named after him. My grandfather, Emmett Storey was a County Assessor, and my Father, Bob Story, was on the Cheyenne City Council for 2 terms. I graduated from Cheyenne East High School, then attended the University of Wyoming and earned my degree in Social Work. After College, I started my career in Child Protective Services. There I was, a caseworker and a supervisor. I also worked at Head Start as a Social Worker and at Attention Homes Inc as an in-home family preservation worker. I met my husband, who was stationed at F.E. Warren AFB. He transferred to the Wyoming Air National Guard and retired as an AGR as the Commander of CACS. We have 3 children and one grandson.

I am the Chair of the State Children's Justice Act Task Force Board and, in the past, was appointed by the Governor to the Wyoming Children's Trust Fund Board.

Community Activities and Memberships

I am a member of the Laramie County Republican Women's Group, A member of Zonta Club, was the Volunteer of the year for Youth Alternatives, and am an active member of my church (The church of Jeasue Christ of Latter-day Saints)

Why I am Running

I am running to give back. It is our duty as citizens to participate in the thing we call democracy. It is a privilege to serve in local government. I have always had a desire to serve my community. It is a pattern that has been handed down to me by my relatives before. I am running to give the citizens a voice. Currently, trust in our local elected officials has been broken, with many decisions where citizens do not feel they were heard. I am running to restore that trust and to listen to the people who elect me. You elect me to do a job and that job is representing you. Not listening to special interests and voting how they want me to vote. I work for you.

Top 3 Priorities

Data Centers: I support responsible economic development—but growth must happen on Cheyenne's terms, not on the terms of outside corporations. I am not opposed to data centers. I am opposed to approving projects without asking the hard questions first.
Every proposed data center should demonstrate clear, measurable benefits to the people of Cheyenne before receiving city approval.
Data centers should pay their fair share for the infrastructure they require, including roads, water systems, electrical infrastructure, public safety, and emergency services. Existing taxpayers should never be left paying for the costs of supporting new development.

Transparency and Public Trust
Residents deserve complete transparency throughout the approval process.
Important decisions should not be made behind closed doors.
I have concerns about city officials signing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) that prevent meaningful public discussion. While companies may need to protect legitimate proprietary business information, those agreements should never prevent residents from understanding how a project will affect their community.
Public trust requires openness, accountability, and honest communication.

Building a Community That Supports Our Youth
A community is judged by how it invests in its children.
Safe parks, recreation, mentoring, and youth programs strengthen families.
Supporting organizations that serve children helps build a stronger Cheyenne for the future.
