Mark Jones (Republican)
House District 40 - - (192)
Biography
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Wildlife Biology and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife Biology. I am a Certified Wildlife Biologist® who spent 30+ years managing big game and small game populations for hunters. My work involved fighting for hunter opportunities and access and becoming a subject matter expert in government policies and processes. For the last several years, I have worked as a National Director for the non-profit Gun Owners of America organization, fighting for our Second Amendment Rights and Hunter Opportunity at both the state and national levels. I have a strong history of protecting these Rights against all threats, including the recent four years of the Biden Administration. I’m proud to have worked to pass some of America’s strongest pro-Second Amendment legislation in Cheyenne over the last several legislative sessions, and we often did this against the big-government insiders who have no respect for our Constitutional Rights.
Experience
Volunteer two-term Republican Party Vice Chair, a two-term Republican Party Chairman, and I’ve worked extensively to support Conservative Republicans since 2008, when I saw the damage Barack Obama was doing to our Country.

Why I am Running
I am running to represent regular people like me in Wyoming’s House District 40 because our neighbors deserve to be represented by someone who will uphold the conservative values of our people. Government can lower taxes and provide for essential services, including roads, bridges, schools, police, fire, etc., if we prioritize use of taxpayers’ money and practice fiscal responsibility while cutting waste, fraud, abuse, and cutting the funding of “Pet Projects” that benefit a few wealthy insiders who get rich off our tax dollars.
Top 3 Priorities
Smaller government and Lower Taxes – Wyoming government is too big and spends too much. Our important and honest state government workers are cheated out of opportunities by wasteful spending that we all must pay for. I’ve pledged to fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse and never support a Wyoming income tax. Out-of-control government is fueled by our tax dollars – money that belongs to us. To get government back in line, I’ll ensure spending protects essential services like police, fire, schools, roads, etc. and stops funding “Pet Projects” to undermine the will of the people.
Individual Rights – The Bill of Rights is at the very beginning of our Constitution for a particularly good reason – because without individual rights, the government can trample our liberties. I’ll stand strongly against any attempts to infringe on our rights to Free Speech, Keep and Bear Arms, parental rights, property rights, or exercise any of our other rights. I am endorsed by Gun Owners of American in this campaign.
Sanctity of Life – As a father of two children, I know how precious life is, which is why I will steadfastly work to protect the right-to-life for the innocent no matter how old they are. In fact, I am endorsed by Wyoming Right to Life in this campaign!
