Patricia Grantham (Not Applicable)
Trustee-Senior Citizens Service District - - (11999)
Biography
I was born and raised on a small family dairy farm in Northern Illinois.
As can be seen from m educational profile, I spent a good part of my early adult life in educational endeavors. In between degrees, I had a variety of research jobs, mostly related to medicine and neuropharmacology.
After graduating from medical school and completing my residency in Family Medicine with obstetrics. I practiced for 13 years in Dillon, MT, and then another 12 years in Miles City, MT with Billings Clinic.
In my early 50's, I adopted two baby boys, one with special needs. It was quite stressful trying to juggle a 60-hour work week with lots of call requirements with the single parenting of 2 little boys.
Now that I am retired, I am able to do the things that I previously did not have the time or energy to pursue, such as concerts, many outdoor activities (camping, bicycling, backpacking, and cross-country skiing), reading, and gardening. I also volunteer at the Wyo Theater, The Hub, and NAMI.
Experience
My main experience with the senior population comes from elderly patients in my medical practice. In addition to medical problems, I addressed their concerns related to aging, such as grief, mobility concerns, losing their independence from no longer being able to drive or live in their own home, or financial concerns.
My experience as a board member for Sheridan NAMI and my participation on the Wyoming Behavioral Health Advisory Council, make me qualified to serve on the Senior District Board.

Why I am Running
I am running as a candidate for trustee on the newly formed Senior District of Sheridan County because I want to ensure that the seniors of our community will have the programs and services that they need and deserve to maintain a high quality of life as they age. Many seniors struggle with food insecurity, inadequate housing, lack of transportation, financial concerns, health issues, and mental health issues such as isolation and depression. The Hub currently provides an impressive array of programs for seniors. However, with increasing costs and funding cuts, it will become increasingly difficult to maintain these programs in the future. It is therefore imperative that through the Senior Board, these services continue through revenue from a mil levy on property owners in Sheridan County. I would like to be a part of that process as a trustee of the board so that I can use my skills and experience to serve the seniors in our community.
Top 3 Priorities
