Stacia Noorda (Republican)
County Treasurer - - (114)
Biography
Hi, my name is Stacia Hessenthaler Noorda, and I am running for Hot Springs County Treasurer. I am native to Hot Springs County. My family moved to Thermopolis just days before my first birthday. I graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 2002. After graduating, I spent an unforgettable year as an exchange student in Brazil before returning home to obtain an Associate of Arts degree. My focus then shifted to supporting my husband as he obtained his Culinary Arts degree, and raising our family. We returned to Thermopolis in 2006, and in 2008 I began working at the Hot Springs County Treasurer’s office. I spent three years there, and then left to support my husband’s passion of owning a restaurant. We ran the local Blimpie Sub shop for 18 months. For the next four years I worked for a company doing title work and lien clearance before returning to the Treasurer’s office, where I have remained ever since.

Why I am Running
I am running for Hot Springs County Treasurer to assure continuity in the level of service that the citizens of Hot Springs County have grown accustomed to. I started at the bottom as a motor vehicle clerk and have shown attention to detail and ability to learn quickly which has allowed me to grow within the office. I actively look forward to coming to work each day and have grown particularly fond of the associations that I have been able to cultivate. The best part of my day is getting to visit with people as they enter our office, to answer their questions, and to put them at ease. No-one is particularly fond of taxation, I am here to provide clarifications to questions that might be asked and to explain the history of how we reached this point. I think an understanding of why things are done a certain way is an invaluable piece of knowledge.
Top 3 Priorities
To list out my top three priorities, I would put special attention on the following areas:
*To execute the duties of my office with fidelity and integrity.
*To make sure the transition between elected officials is as smooth as possible while allowing for room to make meaningful change.
*To be an active participant in the County Treasurer's Association so that our processes are as similar as possible amongst all counties, and so that we might be able to help our legislators as they ask for our input in any future discussion.
