I’m Tracy Fletcher, and I grew up on my family’s farm in Wayne, Nebraska, where I learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and serving others. Active in 4-H with horses, poultry, and veterinary science, I developed a lifelong appreciation for agriculture and community. After earning my Associate’s Degree in Accounting in Colorado, life brought me to Laramie, where my husband and I built our home, raised our three children, and became deeply rooted in Albany County. We still enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, and exploring the Snowy Range. For the past 23 years, I have proudly served in the Albany County Treasurer’s Office, including the last 7½ years as your elected Treasurer. I began as an accounting clerk, advanced to Chief Deputy Treasurer, earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Wyoming, and have remained committed to responsible financial stewardship. I am running for re-election because I believe public service is about helping people.

I have served in the Albany County Treasurer's Office for the past 23 years with the last 7-1/2 as the County Treasurer. I have served in every position within the office from accounting to Chief Deputy. I have worked in the accounting field for the past 36 years and now specialize in governmental fund accounting.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming, have completed professional association training, and collaborate with elected officials statewide.

Boards I serve on are the Wyoming County Treasurers Association as Treasurer, the Community Services Tripartite Board as Chair, the Wyoming Association of County Offices as Vice President, and the Laramie Regional Airport Board as Treasurer. I hold memberships with Government Finance Officers Association, National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers, and Finance Officers, and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

I want to let everyone know why I am running for Albany County Treasurer again. I care about the residents of Albany County and I want to help them. I see a continued need to help them understand how their property tax bills work, how to understand the vehicle licensing process and the other duties of this office. I want to foster a positive learning environment for the taxpayers. Additionally, I would love to be able to continue to help residents, employees, department heads, and other elected officials understand the County’s finances and fund accounting which can be quite complex. Lastly, I want to continue the history of sound cash management and transparent financial governance.

My first priority is completing the modernization project—upgrading software, policies, and procedures—to deliver the transparency residents expect in our financial information. Second, I will expand convenient, secure ways for taxpayers to do business with our office, including additional payment options and enhanced online services now permitted by statutory updates. Third, I will continue to exceed expectations in customer service, keeping processes efficient, accessible, and respectful for every resident.
