Biography

Lifetime Wyoming resident. Born in Torrington. Graduated from Torrington High School, Eastern Wyoming College, and the University of Wyoming. AA, BA, and MA degrees in English. Long time broadcasting career. After college, taught at Campbell County High School and Eastern Wyoming College for 22 years. Two children. Wife died of cancer eight years ago. Currently on City Council and a Commissioner on the Wyoming Community College Commission. Also served the state as a member of the Wyoming Humanities Council, two terms on the WCDA Board (two years as chair of the board), and two terms on the State Parks and Cultural Resources Commission.

Experience

As stated above, long time volunteer for the state and locally. Finishing a term as a city council member and served as a gubernatorial appointment to several commissions and boards for the state. Division Chair at EWC with budget and hiring responsibilities. A wide range of opportunities to learn about parliamentary procedure, budgeting, and dealing with people.

Education

AA from EWC in secondary education, BA from UW in secondary education-English and Communication, MA from UW in English. I have completed training as required by the state for elected officials.

Community Activities and Memberships

City Council, member of the Goshen County Semiquincentennial Committee (250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence). Have been a Jaycee (aged out), Big Brothers/Big Sisters, deacon at First Baptist Church, Goshen County Sheriff's Posse.

Why I am Running

Serving my community is a priority. As we head into unknown waters regarding local and county funding, I feel I am well prepared to help deal with this situation. I am finishing my first term and have learned much. I would like to continue to learn, listen to constituents, and provide leadership.
