William Levi Dominguez (Republican)

Levi grew up in the Tongue River Valley and graduated from Tongue River High School in 2005. Levi graduated from Montana State University-Billings with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.

After Levi returned to the Sheridan area from college, he met his wife, Melissa, and they married in 2009.

Levi and Melissa have two sons; Will born 2010 and Brody in 2012. They are your typical Wyoming family who loves the outdoors spending time with friends and family.

Levi’s ability to find the right balance between family and work was quickly recognized by his peers within the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office. He was selected in 2016 by the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy to teach “Family Survival” to all graduating officers and their families

Levi will tell you his family always comes before anything else and they are the true blessings within his life. Someone’s title or achievements throughout their career will come and go, but family should be a constant that never fades.

Currently Sheridan County Sheriff and been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2014. In his 23 years in public safety, he has been a community educator, guest instructor at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy and Sheridan College’s medical and criminal justice programs, served as a Hostage Negotiator on the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and Sheridan Police Department’s Special Response Teams, served as a Patrol Deputy, Training Officer, Patrol Administrator, Patrol Lieutenant and Undersheriff.

Levi graduated from Montana State University-Billings with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (Paramedicine) and is a graduate of the FBI’s Rocky Mountain Command College. He has attended several other leadership courses and conferences ranging from basic leadership, advanced leadership, leading in law enforcement organizations, and incident command for major and critical incidents. Levi has completed 2,400 hours of continued law enforcement education.

Levi stays actively involved in the community and serves on boards for the Center of Vital Community and Sheridan Youth Baseball. He is as an advisory board member for Sheridan College’s Criminal Justice program and has been an active member of the Big Horn Lions Club for several years. Levi has been coaching youth baseball for most of his adult life and is currently the Head Coach for Sheridan’s American Legion Infantry baseball team. During the winter, Levi volunteers as a Ski Patroller.

These last four years, our community has gone through several critical and tragic events.

And through all of it, I’m proud of how our community came together, but most importantly, how our local law enforcement officers from different agencies stood by one another, and worked with each other to ensure you all are safe and receiving the law enforcement services you deserve.

I believe the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office has delivered on what I set out to accomplish four years ago after being elected Sheriff.

Our staff’s commitment to the citizens of Sheridan County has resulted in the re-implementation of our K9 Program, collaborating with Emergency Management and local Fire Districts to develop evacuation zones to enhance emergency preparedness, partnering with Sheridan Memorial Hospital and other local providers to offer different programs within our detention center involving mental health and substance abuse, launching Virtual Crisis Care to meet the mental health needs of our rural communities, teaming up with the Sheridan Police Department to develop a consistent Active Shooter Response for all of Sheridan County, and I have continuously advocated for our staff by securing training opportunities, expanding mental health support for them and their families, and have increased our wages to retain and attract qualified personnel.
I look forward to serving you and the sheriff’s office another four years.

During my first term as sheriff, I led our office through some tragic events that some law enforcement administrators will never face throughout their entire career, and supported our community as we navigated the aftermath. I’m running for re-election to continue that work. Some of our office’s future plans are shaped by lessons learned; others are simply exciting changes we can now focus on now that the dust has settled.
And through all of that, I am committed to continue what said I would do four years ago:
COMMUNITY ORIENTED APPROACH TO LAW ENFORCEMENT
I believe Sheridan County should have a voice in law enforcement, and will continue to seek input regarding the Sheriff’s Office through community outreach, educational events and approachable staff.

PROTECT & SERVE SHERIDAN COUNTY
I am committed to finding unique and purposeful ways to better serve Sheridan County while building and maintaining local, state, and federal partnerships.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING
I will support and facilitate leadership development within the sheriff’s office and ensure training is relevant and specific to Sheridan County’s needs.

Over the last four years, The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office has focused on these three points and has built wonderful partnerships to tackle issues facing our communities within Sheridan County. We will keep these priorities at the forefront along with our Mission Statement to ensure we are providing the best law enforcement Sheridan County deserves.
